Photography Ethics

 A. The article talked about different situations and examples of when photoshop was used when it shouldn't have or when it went too far. He also told of what happened to the people that made those photoshop fiascos.

B. I think photoshop should not be used at all unless it is EXTREMELY necessary. The people that use these photoshops just want their photo to look really good and they will do anything to get that. They should focus more when photos are being taken so they can get what they want without doing a ridiculous amount of photoshop. Some cases were just stupid of why they used photoshop. If something goes wrong with the subject of what you are shooting you have to work with what you got. You can't change what happened.

A.

I thought this was the most unethical. This photo for one doesn't look very real. Clinton and Castro  both knew there weren't cameras there. For the press, instead of finding some other way to make a front cover they cut and pasted a photo. I don't understand the point in making this cover anyway because there were no cameras there when they met so this photo is not worth it.

B.
This seemed the most ethical out of all of them. This is a really good photo to use for a front cover, especially for National Geographic. This makes sense because they got a really good photo and they needed a way to fit the scene on the magazine. This one doesn't seem bad at all to me.

Composition Quiz

1. Viewpoint
2. Rule of Thirds
3. Lines
4. Depth
5. Simplicity
6. Rule of Thirds
7. Lines
8. Symmetry
9. Framing
10.Viewpoint

Cropping

The effect of this cropping keeps the focus on these two people not on a huge crowd of people that doesn't let you see what the photographer wanted you to see.

Create Depth

This effect of creating depth lets the person see past the main focus with levels and a background.

Viewpoint

The viewpoint of this photo has the effect of the person actually looking up at the building burning and smoking like you were a person there looking at the building.

Symmetry

This shows symmetry in the buildings and its effect is the picture looks really balanced and visually pleasing to the eye.

Avoiding Mergers

This shows contrast in this photo and the green in the ground clashes with the brown rusty part of the plane to really exentuate the color of the plane and how rusted and burnt it is.

Framing

This frames the guy looking at the people that had fallen. This effect allows the subject which is the guy so you focus on him and what he is doing.

Balance

There is a balance in the buildings. This gives a skyline effect with the buildings equal on both sides so the person can see a full view and there isn't too much happening on one side where it is overwhelmed.

Lines

This is Lines because the building is full of lines to use as a background. It focusing on the person against the lines draws the eyes to him. This helps the person find the focus quickly with a cool background.

The Rules of Thirds

This is the Rule of Thirds because of how it is positioned. It is on the bottom horizontal line giving it a full scene of the destroyed building remains and it doesn't cut off any part of the scene they are taking a picture of.

Simplicity

I chose this for Simplicity because there is one main subject. The effect of this is to see the building and the smoke and destruction of it. You really get a zoomed in look at the building.

Short Answer:

A. Why does Dan Patrick think its important for public tax money to be made available to any public school student who wants to attend a private school?
Dan Patrick thinks it is important for public tax money to be available to any public school student to go to private school because he was tired of hearing "no' and this would inspire public schools to step up their game. Also to help low income and minority students that attend low-performing schools.

B. Why do opponents of his legislation, like Ken Zarifis president of Education Austin the largest AISD teachers union,  think this use of public tax money is illegal and shouldn't been allowed to happen?
They think the only way that they can use the dollars is to keep them public and also when they are private the companies are no longer accountable to the public.

C. Which side of this argument do you think is correct? WHY
I think there is a reason for private school which is that you pay a tuition to attend that school and if anyone is allowed to go because of tax money than it isn't really private school anymore and I think it is unfair to those that already go that pay their own tuition for the school. As much as it would be amazing for kids with low-income homes to get to go to private school, it doesn't seem like a smart idea.

D. If your parents had access to a set amount of money and were able to use that to help pay for a private school education for you, do you think you would want to go to a private school?
No I wouldn't because I am learning a lot right where I am and Bowie is an amazing school so I don't think I would want my parents to have to pay a tuition so I could go to a private school when I go to a perfectly nice school.

E. What if your parents only got enough to pay for part of that private school?

Then I would not make them pay for it even if I did want to go. I would want to go but I wouldn't get the full experience and my parents could use that money for other important things. I would be totally fine not going to that private school.

2014 (Welcome Back)

I chose this photo because it was very memorable because of the Oscar's and this photo even broke twitter because so many people wanted to favorite and retweet it.

I chose this photo because this is a plane searching for a missing Malaysia Airlines which was really sad for people.

This photo is a man kissing his son after he was rescued in the mines. I thought this photo was amazing and a great memory to see.

My favorite song of 2014 is Lips are Movin' by Meghan Trainor because it a great song. IT is a pop song and you can really jam to it. The song also doesn't get annoying like other songs get annoying after a while. Those are the reasons I chose it as my favorite song of 2014

I chose Gone Girl as my favorite movie of 2014. This movie was really captivating to me. The plot was so different and there were twists and turns all through the movie so you were never bored. This movie left me speechless almost because it was done so well and the way they filmed it and how it progressed was amazing. I started to read the book after and the way they turned it to a movie and made it flow and able to understand all of it was so amazing.

I chose Ferguson as the most important news story because this is a truly big thing. There is still racial things going on in our country and police having a poor judge of character on people. Especially after the trial of the officer who killed Michael Brown, an innocent unarmed guy. This was a horrible thing and is still being protested against and I think this was huge and an awful thing.

I chose Jennifer Lawrence as my most important person in 2014 because she is really inspiring. Her movies are so amazing and she gets cast in good moves and is such a good actress. aShe is also a role model for people around the globe and has a truly positive influence on others. She has said in many interviews to be yourself and love yourself. She is a true role model and lets people know it is okay to be you.

I think the biggest entertainment story for 2014 is

1. I will definitely remember me getting sick on Christmas Eve and being sick for a whole week and being very miserable. My family was amazing and made me feel good on Christmas and all when I was sick.

2. My resolution is to take my dog for a walk everyday and start running. That seems like a good goal to me.

3. I'm looking forward to the cold weather of January and February and Spring Break.
